About Brandi Collage

This project was from my first Photoshop class. It was a collage to illustrate the different things in our life that explain who we are.

The main purpose of this project was to show how well we learned visual composition and selecting and cutting out images in Photoshop. We wanted to make up our image to flow in a meaningful and creative way and have the colors flow nicely as well. We were allowed to choose any image we felt would help illustrate us as an individual. We also couldn't have just a flat color background, it needed to be something that would work with the other selections over it but still be a photo that represented us.

For my images, I used a photo of the beach by my parents' house, as I'm a huge beach fan and I have to be near the water. There's also a selection of the Griffon roller coaster from Busch Gardens, which is where I work. There's an alto saxophone, which is the instrument I wanted to play since I was 6 and finally got to start playing in 8th grade when my grandpa got it for me. The dragon, katakana sign, and Disney ticket with Stitch (from "Lilo & Stitch) are from a trip to Japan I took to visit my dad while he lived there for a year which was a place I'd always wanted to visit. There is a ticket to see The Who, because I'm a big classic rock fan. A ticket for Monty Python's "Spamalot" because I love Monty Python and can recite all of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." There's a photo of my friend Ethan and I at a glow-in-the-dark color run in which we participated. The yellow lab is my parents' dog, Fezzik, who I trained while my dad was in Japan. There's a cormorant on a post in the water, which is because I actually really like birds and knowing how to identify the different bird species. The tin plates are different parts of Pittsburgh, which is where my family the suburbs I lived in until I was two are located. The final objects are the first photos I edited with Photoshop, before taking classes on it, of two of my friends: Gulsah, from Poland, on the left side, who worked with me in 2009 at Busch Gardens, and Julie, on the right, who I know from a couple of years when we both worked on the website, Mugglenet.
