All of the Lights: Moonbeam
This is the last photo in my "All of the Lights" series. This was for the final project of Photography class to utilize all of the lessons learned over the semester.
To finish off my series, this photo is called "Moonbeam." This was taken from in Smithfield, VA around the James River during the supermoon on the early morning of December 4, 2017. It was a long exposure shot with the moon just off-camera (as it was too bright for the long exposure setting) to catch the stars. The light in the distance, while looking like a sunrise, was actually the parking lot lighting from the ham plant several miles away. The way all of these elements came together made for my favorite photo I've ever taken, let alone the whole semester, even with the graininess. I was always interested in astronomy photography, so this was a good way to figure out the beginnings of what to do.
