Girls on the Run School Brochure
This project was to create a brochure for a company of our choice. My brochure was for Girls on the Run, the South Hampton Roads Chapter, but adding a fictional new location to reach more girls.
Girls on the Run is a nonprofit girls empowerment organization for middle school-aged girls. They meet twice a week at a school to help girls become confident in themselves and their skills by using running games. The season culminates in a large "fun run" for all of the participants.
Currently, there are only locations on the Southside of Hampton Roads, so I made a brochure to help promote a new part of the chapter that could be more accessible to the girls of the Peninsula, including my younger sisters. It would be held at Trinity Lutheran in Newport News. The brochure was planned to go to other middle schools in Newport News as well.
The brochure's front page, marked by the grey gradient, would be a reflective material so the girl with the brochure would see herself with all of the positive phrases framing her face.
The interior of the brochure has the main information from the organization, including where they meet and the location of the final run.
The graphics were from a free flower vector set that I'd gotten years before I started taking classes and matched the look and feel of the website. Some of the other brushes used were those that came with Illustrator. The colors used are also the fun and energetic ones used on the website. The logo was taken from the actual organization.
The parental and guardian information were written as informative and instructional with a note to visit the website for more information, as obviously, only so much can be put in a brochure and is made just to at least pique interest in joining the organization.
The main event that was being promoted was the final 5k at the end of the season. It was shared as more of a possible meet up to learn more about the organization from those who were a part of it and could speak to it from a personal standpoint.
