Hand Drawings
Another project from Drawing I to learn how to draw more realistic things in perspective. Above, practice sessions learning how to draw hands. To the left, the final project.
For this project, after practicing drawing hands in different positions, but not in great detail, we were given a mirror and told to hold something in our hand - anything and however we like, then draw it. We took pictures to ensure we didn't change things too much based on different lighting we might get away from our actual class period or across class periods.
My hand is holding a blending stump. I used directional shading again to help create more realism than if just using a blurred kind of shading, like if I used the blending stump I'm holding. I want to say this took me the full week as well, as I'm very critical of myself and was unhappy with a lot of things for a while, like the shape of my fingertips. After I got everything the way I wanted it, in regards to my hand, I decided to shade the background for better distinguish my hand from the rest of the paper.
Yet again, I surprised myself with how well it came out compared to what I believed of my abilities.
