Negative Space with Initials
For this Fundamentals of Design project, we were given stencils of our initials and told to use India ink to make it visually interesting in some way with just black and white.
I knew with this project that I didn't want to be super predictable with in regards to which blocks were black and always having white letters on black boxes or vice-versa. As I was filling everything in, I decided to make any overlap swap colors because it was more interesting to me. My professor said at first she wasn't sure about the design but the more she looked at it the more she liked it and the more interesting it became and it ended up being one of her favorites.
